My family is a huge fan of the original Frozen movie so naturally, we are so excited it’s available to watch at home! The number one animated feature film of all time, Disney’s Frozen II is now available on Digital, DVD, and Blu-Ray. There is nothing better to me than a good old movie night, and just recently Frozen II was our featured family movie. We love Frozen II, the animation, storyline, and music are all fabulous, and fun for all ages.
In Frozen II, Elsa, the Snow Queen has a gift, the power to create ice and snow, but no matter how happy she is to be surrounded by the people of Arendelle, she still felt like something was wrong. After hearing a mysterious voice call all throughout the movie, Elsa travels to the enchanted forests and dark seas beyond her kingdom. She took us on an adventure that soon turns into a journey of finding where she belongs.
The search continues to find out why Elsa was born with magical powers and it's calling her and threatening her kingdom. Together with Anna, Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven, she sets out on a dangerous but remarkable journey. There were different visually beautiful “elements” throughout the movie; Water, Earth, Wind, and Fire. There’s another element, but you’ll have to make sure to watch the movie to find out. The elements play a significant part all throughout the movie down to the stitching on the clothes, so if you missed it check it out next time you watch Frozen II.
I especially enjoy how the sisters are connected by love and will do anything for each other. Elsa and Anna are the bridge, two ends working together to connect. They also took their friends along for the adventure and they once again proved they would do anything for each other. The movie was filled with so many emotions, lots of humor, an exciting storyline and many topics we all could relate to. Including dealing with change, like what Olaf was experiencing, and the “feelings” he hadn't felt before. Topics like this in a movie help us to discuss it in real life with our children, makes it more relatable when a character they love also experience things they do. I love seeing a movie that has such a powerful message for young ladies, they could be strong, beautiful and can do anything they put their minds to. These sisters worked together and saved their town, you really can’t get any more inspiring than that! To quote Elsa, “Fear Can't Be Trusted.” this stood out to my daughter because every day we are faced with fear and we have to remember to trust ourselves, not fear.
The fun continued, I also had an outdoor movie night for the community and featured Frozen II. It was so cool to see everyone enjoying the movie including the dads and boys. It was fun to host an event with a theme of Frozen II. We made sure to not only show the movie but to include each element to really be part of the movie experience.
❄️ Earth - was created by recycling crayons, different shades of blues, greens and a little white (placed on the bottom of the tin) - set the over to 250 degrees, and melted the mixture of crayons in a muffin tin for about 10 minutes. They were perfect Earth crayons and kids took them home after the movie.
❄️ Wind - was a fan pushing fog-filled bubbles that kept the kids running and jumping catching them before and during the movie.
❄️ Water - which was Olaf melted so we served water with a carrot, kids really got a kick out of that. Also, we had fake snow for the kids to play with -- it was a fun interactive activity.
❄️ Lastly, Fire with our tiki torches placed on either side of our movie set up (which also worked great to help light up the movie night just a tad).
A few other fun activities and tasty treats we added to our event was "Build Your Own Olaf" with marshmallows, blue long lollipops which looked like “ice crystals” and Frozen II-themed fruit snacks too. There was so much action in the movie, it really is a fabulous movie for everyone! If you didn’t have a chance to see it in the movie theater now is your chance to add Frozen II to your movie collection. Bonus features also include a sing-along version of the film plus exclusive content, including outtakes, deleted scenes and songs, and much more! Learn more here.
Hope you enjoy the movie as much as we all did!
