Six Flags New England Fright Fest ~ Scary Good Fun!

By Laurie Ritrosky, Publisher of Macaroni Kid Westfield-Southwick September 28, 2017

Last weekend my family and I were invited to check out this year's Fright Fest at Six Flags New England. It never disappoints with Halloween fun for the whole family!

For the little ones there is the Trick or Treat Trail. Your kids can dress up in costumes and get candy along the trail. There is also Graveyard Groove: A Monster Revue. A fun musical show featuring your favorite ghouls. And don't miss Daniel Greenwolf: Celtic Magician for an enchanted display of Celtic magic.

When the sun goes down the ghouls emerge. There are three different zones in the park with zombies and monsters wielding weapons such as machetes and chainsaws. Prepare to be scared!

At 4 PM the Midnight Mansion opens. A twisted maze of frights and spooks. If you have been before, you will notice that the mansion is laid out differently this year. A new, fun, scary experience!

At 6 PM you can enter the Slasher Circus 3D and The Forgotten Laboratory as these are indoors. Put on your 3D glasses and see scary clowns right in your face. Very colorful and creepy! Walk through the laboratory and see body parts and people screaming for help. Just keep telling yourself, they're just actors!

When it gets dark you can take a walk in the Wicked Woods and visit The Aftermath: Zombie's Revenge. I think these are my favorite. They are outdoors so it really feels like you are in a creepy woodland scene and visiting a zombie apocalypse!

Also, don't miss CarnEvil, a sinister sideshow, and the Creepshow Freakshow. Both involve fire!

The rides are decked out Halloween style and the whole park is decorated for the season. Halloween is not complete without a visit to Fright Fest!

Six Flags Fright Fest is open through Oct. 29 on weekends and select weekdays. One day tickets and season passes (best deal) are available online at https://www.sixflags.com/newengland.

When the ghouls retreat back to the underworld, the fun is not over! Santa arrives with Holiday in the Park starting on Nov. 24 through Dec. 31 on weekends and select weekdays.

I was given tickets for this review, however, all opinions expressed are my own.
