Ripen Young Reading Skills with My First BANANAGRAMS

By Macaroni Kid September 28, 2017

At nearly 5, our little learner can take some time to get motivated when it comes to spelling and reading, so we’ve been on the hunt for ways to slip in activities that deliver a healthy dose of education, but are masked in fun. It seems simple enough, but we’ve found that many of the games and programs out there just haven’t held her interest. We were thrilled to find that when we tested out My First BANANAGRAMS, not only did we see her letter recognition improving within the first game, she came back for more later the same day!

My First BANANAGRAMS utilizes lowercase and combo-letters for easier letter recognition and word building. It’s amazing how quickly this improved her recognition since upper and lowercase differences are a huge source of confusion for most kids her age.

Geared toward children 4 and up, My First BANANAGRAMS encourages parents to get involved with helping their children reach the spelling milestone faster, and with lots more fun along the way. With stage-appropriate game suggestions like matching, word families, and rhyme-time, they’ll quickly be on their way to recognizing letters, building words, and eventually they will be ready to graduate to the original BANANAGRAMS!

Each banana includes 80 single tiles, 13 combo-letter tiles, and easy to follow instructions with lots of game suggestions, which lets you switch things up without pulling out another game. As a mom, a learning game that holds their attention and acts as multiple games in one is as good as gold.
