An Olympic Gold Medalist is coming to Roots Gymnastics this Fall!
Gymnast Laurie Hernandez will in the building on Saturday, Oct. 21. The Rio 2016 star will be at 209 Root Road, Suite 1 in Westfield, Mass. from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet Hernandez, win prizes and raise funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Laurie, 17, was one of five gymnasts selected for the United States’ Olympic team in 2016. She helped the squad win gold in team all-around while also finishing with a silver medal individually on balance beam.
In order to meet Hernandez, you must meet at least the first of a number of fundraising benchmarks. The following are each of the steps:
• Raise $125 in order to attend a private gymnastics clinic with Laurie and score an event wristband.
• Raise $250 to meet Hernandez for pictures, autographs, and a Q&A session. Parents are welcome!
• Raise $500 to receive an original artist’s rendering poster of Laurie.
• Raise $1,500 and Hernandez will present you with a signed Certificate of Fundraising Excellence during the Q&A session.
• Raise $2,000 to bring an extra guest to the event — whoever you’d like! If your guest is a friend, they can watch your clinic but not participate in it. Your guest will meet Laurie for pictures and an autograph and receive the original artist’s rendering poster of Hernandez.
• Raise $3,000 to attend a private Rio Olympics roundtable discussion with Laurie. Learn more about the Olympics from a gold medalist!
• Raise $5,000 to pose alongside Hernandez in an official event photo that Hernandez will post to her social media followers!
• Raise $12,340 to win a $1,000 Amazon gift card for your efforts! This would be a Lucas Sports Inc. event all-time individual fundraising record.
• Don’t stop raising money — The top 30 fundraisers will participate in an additional private clinic with Laurie. Get tips from a world champion gymnast! The top 10 will attend a private lunch with Hernandez — bring your questions, camera, and appetite! Finally, the top 2 will attend the private lunch seated next to Laurie.
Fundraising for the event ends on Oct. 18 at 11:59 p.m.
