"Apple" Pretzels for the Teacher!

A yummy & easy treat to say thank you to a special teacher

By Christel M. Hoydic April 1, 2021
Teacher Appreciation Week is May 3rd-May 7th and homemade treats are always a very thoughtful gift.  But even if you don't send these into school (due to COVID it might not be the best idea this year), these "apple" pretzels are easy to make, delicious to eat, and look great!

What you'll need:
  • Pretzel twists
  • Red candy melts
  • Green gummy candy (gumdrops, the green ends of gummy worms, etc.)
  • A tin bucket or other container (The dollar store is always a great stop for some fun containers!)
What you'll do:
  1. Melt the candy melts in the microwave, following the directions on the package
  2. Dip one pretzel into the melted candy entirely and place on a cookie sheet covered with wax paper or aluminum foil
  3. Immediately place the green cut end of the sour worm on the top of the red pretzel.
  4. Repeat steps 1-3 until all pretzels are complete.  Allow to dry for about 30 minutes.
  5. Arrange in tin, basket, or bucket of your choice and give to a favorite teacher!
