Remembering Our Heroes & The Unofficial Start of Summer

May 21, 2015
Did you know....?

Memorial Day was originally called Decoration Day because soldiers would decorate the graves of their fallen comrades with flowers, flags and wreaths. Memorial Day became the official title in the 1880's, but it was not legally declared a holiday until 1967. In 2000, Congress passed a law requiring Americans to pause at 3 p.m. on Memorial Day to remember and honor the fallen.

So while you are kicking off Summer this weekend with family & friends take a moment to remember our fallen heroes.
