Wicked Cyclone STORMS into Six Flags New England This Weekend - Review

#ThrillItUp

My family and I were invited to Six Flags New England Media Day for the ribbon cutting and opening ceremony of their newest ride, Wicked Cyclone. It was a very exciting day for us! We got to take one of the first rides and WOW!! It was incredible!

Wicked Cyclone’s steel track provides riders with a smoother and more intense ride along its 3,320 feet of track. The ride stands 10 stories in the sky and reaches speeds of up to 55 mph. Once the twenty-four thrill seekers board Wicked Cyclone, it quickly climbs the 109-foot hill to then plummet at maximum speeds while providing riders with weightlessness and a truly wicked ride.

Wicked Cyclone is the first coaster of its kind to have a Hang-time inversion and two Zero-G Rolls. Riders will also be able to experience more airtime than any other coaster in New England with 14 airtime hills.

A category 6 cyclone is going to hit Agawam! The theme, of course, is storm chasing. C.H.A.S.E. stands for Cyclone Hunters and Storm Enthusiasts. While you are waiting to ride, you will see storm coverage from local news stations about the impending storm. While on the ride you are a storm C.H.A.S.E.r!

Where wood meets steel! If you remember the old Cyclone Roller Coaster that originated back in 1983, you will notice that it still looks like the classic wooden roller coaster, but with some smooth steel upgrades. There are steel girders mixed with wood and a brand new steel track that runs very smoothly. No headaches or backaches from this ride!

Something you will NOT notice is all the twists, turns, and surprises! Any other other roller coaster, you can just look at it and see what is coming, but not this one. There is the classic first drop (78 degrees,) but after that everything is hidden, so you don't know what to expect. It makes it even more thrilling. One second you are going right, then quickly to the left and back to the right again. Before you know it, you are in a barrel roll, upside down for what seems like several seconds. This is the hang-time inversion and you really have to experience it for yourself. It is amazing!

I have to admit, it was a little nerve wracking at first when you notice there are no shoulder restraints, but you never feel like you are going to fall out. When you are upside down, it just feels like you are suspended. It really is an incredible feeling and not scary at all!

Just when you think the ride has to be over, you go over another hill or another barrel roll. It is actually only 97 seconds, but the excitement seems to last much longer. It really is a one-of-a-kind roller coaster, and you have to experience it for yourself!

The ride officially opens to the public this Sunday, May 24th. There will be an exciting ribbon cutting and special activities hosted by local radio stations. There will also be games, music, dancing, contests, and more. The first 1,000 riders on May 24 will receive a free souvenir t-shirt, and a Friendly's coupon! Season pass holders will have exclusive ride time on May 22 and 23.

I highly recommend that you check it out. You really have to experience this unique coaster for yourself! More info at https://www.sixflags.com/newengland.
