Doering School Family Carnival

October 16, 2014
On Saturday, October 25, 12:00 - 5:00 p.m., Roberta G. Doering Middle School PTO will host a free Family Carnival for its nearly 600 students, their families and the surrounding community.  Taking place on the Doering School grounds at 68 Main Street, the Doering Family Carnival is the culminating event for the students’ 6-week fundraising campaign to raise money for class field trips and student programs.  The Carnival promises to be an exciting event for all who attend and will include carnival games, scheduled entertainment, “street” performers, raffles, horse rides, food vendors and a Silent Auction put together by the students.
50 Cent Carnival Games - Rain or shine, come try your hand and win prizes at Carnival games, such as the Fitness First Bean Bag Toss, Squirt Gun Game, PLINKO, Noodle Javelin, Toilet Paper Toss,  Agawam YMCA Wellness Center’s obstacle course, Stick Time Sports’ slap shots speed booth, and many more.  The talented staff from Thousand Cranes Studio will be creating their works of art by face painting, and the Agawam Kiwanas will be onsite making free cotton candy.  Don’t forget to swing by the dunk tank and “soak a student.”

Free Entertainment – Hosted by Doering Band Director and DJ-ZJ Zachary Scherpa, the TNT Tent & Table Rentals Center Stage will feature music and a variety of acts, including a live performance by CHILL, a young, new band of four local 15 year olds, whose music ranges from classic rock to contemporary pop
(www.chilltheband.com).  Carnival-goers will enjoy the Comedy Magic of Michael Wald sponsored by LHQ Dance Force, be entertained by local dance troops, including LHQ Dance Force, and get up close and personal with an Agawam Fire Engine.

Local Food Vendors - The Ice Cream Shoppe will offer six flavors of ice cream, ice cream sandwiches and hot dogs. Crafty Cookie will have a variety of baked treats, and the PTO will be making its famous popcorn.  All food will be reasonably priced – $1-$5.

Student Silent Auction - Doering students also will be having their own Silent Auction to raise money for class field trips.  The middle school students work together with their teachers and classmates to create gift baskets that they will auction off during the Carnival.  Please support their efforts and put in your bid.

All proceeds of the Doering Family Carnival benefit PTO student programs.  For more information, a Carnival Map and Entertainment schedule, please email DoeringCarnival@gmail.com or visit the PTO section of the Roberta G.
